Using Color to Create Beautiful Rooms.
Your room color schemes set the overall mood and tone for decorating your rooms. Fortunately, there are lots of colors to choose from. The downside is that it can be very overwhelming to pick the right color combo for you!
It doesn’t have to be that confusing to pick the right paint colors if you know where to start!
Take a good look around your room. What do you like or don’t like? How does light affect each wall or corner? What do you want to feature? What do you want to hide? Maybe it needs to be lightened up…or toned down.
What permanent structures are there that you will need to match or coordinate? These could be a stone fireplace, a brick wall, or other features that you know you’re not going to change.
Will you have to coordinate your paint colors with the flooring or will that be changed? If the carpet or flooring is neutral, you can be freer to choose colors. If you have colorful carpet, you’ll want to consider that as you make your choices.
Wood flooring can be changed by sanding and staining. Tile is not so easy to change but it can be done.
Think about your furniture. Are there colors there that you absolutely love? Use these colors to start with what you like and build from there.
